steady on. pilk is sui generis. "futurama" is just eine kleine nacht reading. a little frivolity after the solemnities of eliot.
more generally, seriousness is, i think, a good thing. but to be wholly serious, or earnest, as george eliot is, (you have to be to take fueurbach seriously), is to be a pretty lousy person.
important to make room for fun, i say.
muslims, you'll notice, don't laugh or make silly jokes. they're utterly humourless. is it any wonder they lack all humanity?
hamas doesn't watch "the simpsons".
