inside the hexagon

although french political culture is unhinged, like something out of "alice in wonderland" (those working in the quai d'orsay and writing for "le monde diplomatique" are, clinically speaking, crazy), watching le tour de france reminds me of a more enduring fact:

france
is
gorgeous.

France is effortlessly beautiful and oh so chic. I adore France, and the beautiful wine and cheese and croissant and chocolate and man oh man, it's any wonder the French can stay so slim!

I've lived in Europe for over 10 years and have only ever passed through France. This year, however, I am heading to the South for a week.
I hear all sorts of wonderful things about France, and all sorts of not-so-wonderful things about the French.

Awww. Yes. ;)
